Boil Water Advisory - Coeburn Mtn, Tacoma Mtn, Redwine, Dotson Creek
September 27, 2023
The Wise County PSA has experienced a waterline break near the tank in the Coeburn Mountain area of Wise County. This area impacts a large population of our customers therefore, a boil water advisory is now in effect until further notice for those customers located on along Coeburn Mountain, Pole Bridge Road, Tacoma Mountain, Redwine, Duncan Gap, Hurricane, Dotson Creek, Strawberry Mountain, Hickory Gap, Turkey Branch, and surrounding areas. Customers should not drink tap water without bringing water to a rolling boil for at least a minute and letting it cool before drinking.
For more information regarding boil water advisories, please visit the Virginia Department of Health’s website: https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/drinking-water/boil-water-faqs/ or the Wise County PSA’s website: www.wisecountypsa.org.
When the advisory is lifted, further communication will be sent out. If you have any questions, please contact me by email.
We are unsure of what has caused the increased number of major leaks in our system lately, but hopefully we are about through the worst of this.
